Built in 1900 The Bridge Inn, at Port Sunlight on the Wirral, is a large and beautiful Tudor-esque style pub with a maze of corridors and servants quarters beneath. Being a historical village, bold and colourful A-Boards are probably inappropriate for putting out key messages. Besides, even illustrating the pubs only A-Board in a traditional black and white style still did nothing to solve the problem of the wind blowing it across the road!Solutions:
Exterior Garage Doors... A perfectly large double garage frontage painted black and crying out for some traditional looking mural illustration which could incorporate promotional messages, chalkboard style, and could be changed over time.
A mural illustration such as this would normally cost somewhere around £100 or so.
Two 60's style round white planters outside were panelled square with chalkboard illustrations applied to each side in a traditional black and white style
These additions in no way detract from the overall aesthetic, but do provide a talking point for customers.
Try and look for opportunities to enhance the pub's message around the exterior. While I'm not suggesting we saturate every available space with promotional material, passers-by appreciate smart looking creative concepts, and it can be great fun finding new and unusual ways to put out your key messages!
